Tuesday night we celebrated Lawrence’s 16th birthday, big thanks to Trish, Lawrences Mum for bringing over some beautiful home baked cakes and lots of fresh fruit goodies for desert. It was nice to see Lawrence’s family for his birthday who are also here, we all look forward to catching up again on Christmas.
Yesterday we headed out to Keystone for a day of rails after a few fairly big days on the jumps at Breck. With a few new inches of snow about it was a really fun morning in Area 51. They opened up the right side of the chairlift which has some amazing new creative rail features with heaps of different bonks and a quaterpipe.
Michaela and I decided to have a little competition on the street style down bar for a hot chocolate, it was the first to get front boards on the feature. Pelley had decided to be our personal coach and filmer so as the boys lapped through us girls went blow for blow hiking the rail. Michaela was out right favourite as I hadn’t hit a street style down rail for a long time so I had to just get back to basics with learning my boardslides while Michaela went straight in to front boards. Leons joined us for a while working in blunt 270′s along with Declan. After a while we both knew Michaela was going to win, I was just happy with getting my boardslides back and Michaela with her progression to front boards but no that wasn’t enough for Pelley neither of us were leaving untill we had done the tricks we were working on to his perfection. We eventually both got it but Michalea won hands down with the front board.. Leons also got his trick, and we decided to head down. Another awesome day besides DK getting a huge bruise and being off for another few days after a heavy fall.
